Green Futures
Initiative

Understanding environmental challenges through data, economics, and action — building a more sustainable future, one project at a time.

About Us

Introduction

Green Initiative is an academic and practical society focusing on environmental economics and sustainable governance. Different from the traditional public welfare and environmental protection organizations, we take research, education, practice and policy as the four core directions, and use data research, economic logic and practical action to explore a more rational and long-term campus sustainable development plan.

Our purpose is to promote environmental protection and launch a series of activities around environmental protection.

In science education, we create a series of brand activities. Through the “Green Myth or Fact” thinking salon, the common misunderstanding of environmental protection is broken down with scientific evidence and economic thinking, so as to guide people to jump out of the stereotypical cognition and treat environmental problems rationally. Through the “Sustainable Brand Spotlight” sustainable brand observation project, the environmental protection strategies of international brands are deeply analyzed, the balance between commercial development and ecological responsibility is discussed, and the objective and professional concept of sustainable consumption is spread.

In terms of academic research, we conduct empirical research based on real campus scenes. The team tracked students’ green consumption habits, environmental protection behavior preferences and incentive mechanism suitability for a long time, and mined the existing problems of campus sustainable development through questionnaire survey and data analysis, so as to provide data support for project implementation and policy optimization.

In terms of practical implementation, we promote quantifiable campus environmental protection actions. We implement and operate large-scale campus waste reduction and recycling projects, mobilize the participation of the whole school by relying on the economic incentive model, improve the campus environment with real practical results, and guide students to form long-term and stable green behavior habits.

In terms of policy exploration, we realize the upgrade from campus practice to governance optimization. We integrate years of project data and practical experience, write sustainable development assessment reports and campus optimization proposals, connect with relevant departments of the university, and try to promote the iteration and improvement of the campus environmental management system from the perspective of student research.

Green Initiative has always been committed to supporting practice through research and feeding policy through practice, making environmental protection more than propaganda, but a sustainable system that can be analyzed, implemented and iterated.
